Appearance:

Numerous different species present themselves between 7-50 mm. The narrow body is cylindrical and consists of many segments, each of which has a pair of legs. The pairs of legs vary between 17-100 depending on the size of the animal.

Reproduction:

The eggs are laid in groups in the soil. Insects that are not yet fully developed moult several times within about 2 years.

Way of life:

Plants and rotten green food are preferred. In case of danger, they curl up in a spiral.
