With a body size of 5-8 mm, the forest cockroach is a rather small representative. The pale to dark brown body is supported by almost black legs. The tegmina (cover wings) are leathery and pale yellow-brown in color with dark markings.

Reproduction:

The female only carries the oothecae around with her for two days. The eggs are formed between June and September. The capsules overwinter on the ground. The nymphs do not hatch until spring, by which time they have already overwintered. They are fully grown in May-June and die in September-October.

Way of life:

Difficult to spot species. Prefers coastal areas and sandy soils. The males fly when the temperature is high enough.
