Blatella germanica

Appearance:

With a size of 12-15 mm, 2 dark stripes on the chest and body-long wings that extend beyond the body, there is no visual difference between male and female cockroaches. Cockroaches are agile and are excellent climbers thanks to the sticky substance on their legs.

Reproduction:

The female carries 35-40 eggs in her ootheca until hatching, which takes place after about a month. The nymph is fully grown by 6 months at the latest.

Way of life:

Heated rooms, kitchens or ships are the cockroach’s preferred habitat. The nocturnal omnivores appreciate high temperatures and humidity.
