Appearance:

With a body size of 6-10 cm and a green-grey iridescent thoracic section with wavy golden-brown hairs, this is a very well-known fly. The wings overlap when at rest. It appears cumbersome and clumsy.

Reproduction:

Larvae are found in roundworms, they reproduce underground.

Way of life:

Found in large clusters in the rafters, especially in the fall. This is where the gray yellow cushion fly often overwinters.
