Fighting wood mice

The total length with tail is 20 cm, whereby the Waldmas weighs only 20-25g. The fur on the back is sand-colored. Yellow flanks, a yellow chest pattern and white belly fur are characteristic of the wood mouse.

Reproduction:

Wood mice mate from March to April and from October to November. After a gestation period of 25 days, up to 5 young are born, which are weaned after 18 days. At the beginning of the mating season, the survival rate is low, as aggressive males drive adults out of the nests and attack them.

Way of life:

The wood mouse mainly feeds on plants, but also eats snails and accessible insects when food is scarce.
